Our 7 days of prayer and fasting is a time where we intentionally seek God every day in prayer and believe for Him to move in our lives in a powerful way as we draw closer to Him.

Join us as we pray and fast for seven days from 29 January to 4 February.

Day one – Deny distractions

Hebrews 12:1

As we start our prayer and fasting today let us reflect on what has been hindering our faith and what has been limiting our spiritual growth. Reflect on sins that may be entangling you and crippling you and seek God to help you and free you. We’re making the choice from Day 1 to deny distractions and seek God!

Day 1 challenge: What do you need to throw off today? Let go and let God!

Day two – Decide to trust

Romans 8:31-39, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

God is no stranger to your pain. He is no stranger to your need. As today’s verse says: He is on our side, He is for us, We are never abandoned by God! When we have God with us, there is no reason to fear the future. Our job is to trust. Nothing can separate us from His love or thwart His plans for our future. As you fast today ask God to reveal His presence, the fact that He is with you and seek to trust Him.

Day 2 challenge: Trust, even if things do not turn out as we expected, that if bad news comes knocking at our door, we will not be knocked down, but will be met with steadfast faith.

Day three – Declarations

James 3:7-12, Proverbs 10:11, Proverbs 18:21

In view of the situation you are facing today, what is your declaration? Let’s be reminded of the power of our words. Let our confession focus on God rather than aligning with our current situation. Use your words to speak life, to encourage others and to inspire faith. As you fast today, ask God to reveal your declarations and to give you the strength to speak life.

Day 3 challenge: Let us be the eyes that see the possibility in the midst of difficulty, and the lips that proclaim good news even in the darkest places.

Day four – Dedicated Worship

Psalm 96:1-3, Psalm 100:2

Faith means that we do not allow our situations to limit our worship. One of our primary purposes is to worship the One who created us. We are called to be worshippers, let’s turn up the volume of our worship. As you fast today, Fill your house with worship, Lift up the name of the Lord in your life.

Day 4 challenge: What response flows from your heart and lips when you are facing an uncertain or painful situation? What are you allowing to steal your song? Respond with prayer and worship.

Day five – Deeper

Colossians 2:7 NLT

Dig deeper, He doesn’t want us to be a spiritual baby forever but wants each one of us to grow in faith and intimacy with Him. When we live by faith, it involves going, often to places we were never planning to go to. As you fast today make a decision to let your roots grow down into him, refusing the shallow and going deeper with Him.

Day 5 challenge: What can you do to grow in your relationship with Christ?

Day six – Daring imagination

2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT, Hebrews 11:1, James 1:5-7

When you were a kid, you had a great imagination. But the older you get, the more your imagination grows rusty. You stop imagining what things could be, and you just start living the way they are. Imagination is essential to living by faith. In order to hope for something, we have to picture it in our minds. When we read through the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11, We realize that every one of them became heroes of faith because they used their imagination. How do we focus on things we can’t see? We use your imagination.

Day 6 challenge: Decide that you’re not going to allow fear to dominate. Let your faith dominate. Move forward in faith and allow your imagination to be filled with all kinds of possibilities because all things are possible with God.

Day seven – Do His Will

Luke 14:16-24, Luke 9:60

I want you to notice some phrases in this passage: “Notify the guests,” “Go quickly,” “Invite,” “Go into the country lanes,” and “Urge anyone you find to come.”

This is how God wants you to do your job: Go quickly into every part of the world, tell people about God’s invitation to salvation, invite them into the family of God, and do it with urgency.

If you’re in the family of God, that’s your job description for the rest of your life while you’re here on Earth. Go invite the guests. And go in faith!

be in Heaven because of you? What kind of legacy are you going to leave? The greatest legacy is having somebody come up to you in Heaven and say, “I’m here because of you.” That’s using your life in a valuable way.

Day 7 Challenge: Be daring in your faith and take up the challenge to do His will

Fasting can bring clarity and revelation into your life. The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God as we eliminate distractions. Your personal fast should present a level of challenge but it's very important to consider your body and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do

As a church we will be having a corporate prayer night and seek God together.
