We are an Assemblies of God Church
& our doctrinal beliefs are as follows:
The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is relevant, accurate and applicable to daily life. It is the only and final authority on moral behaviour, conduct and eternal life and is the foundation of all we believe.
There is only ONE creator, God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (1 John 1:18, 5:6-7; Gen 1:26; John 15:26; John 16:15; Mark 12:29-32).
Jesus Christ came as God’s only Son. We believe in His Deity (Luke 2:11 – He is God) – his virgin birth (Matt 1:23), His sinless life (1 Pet 2:22), His miracles and power over all things (John 2:22), His death on the cross for the sins of mankind (1 Pet 2:24; Is 53:5), His resurrection from the dead in body (Luke 24:6), His ascension into heaven (Luke 24:51 & 22:69) and His future return (1 Thes 4:16).
People are separated from God by sin but we can be forgiven and justified through faith in Jesus Christ (Rom 3:22-23; Rom 10:13-17; Eph 1:7). The sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and His ongoing work in empowering Christians to become fully devoted to Christ (Rom 8:11; 1 Pet 1:2).
The baptism of the Holy Spirit enabling us to live empowered through our Spiritual Gifts to serve the purposes of God (Acts 1:4-8; Acts 9:14-17).
Water baptism (total immersion) is an essential act of discipleship after accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. (Mark 16:15-16; Rom 6:3-4).
The Old Testament blessings were based on obedience to the law are now based on faith in Christ (Deut 28: 1-14).
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant for daily lives and not only for expression within church services. (1 Cor 12-14). The gift of speaking in tongues is for all Christians to build themselves up in faith.
We believe that people are changed through a process of sanctification (work of the Holy Spirit), growing in maturity, increased knowledge of the word and discipleship and not through deliverance rituals. God heals through growth and discipleship (Col 1:13, 28; Eph 2:1-10).
We believe all people will be resurrected (saved and lost); the saved to eternal life with Christ for judgement for reward only; the unsaved to face judgement for eternal damnation (John 5:28-29; 1 Cor 15, Rev 20:11-14)
All believers should be part of a local community of faith (local church) not just part of the universal church (1 Tim 3:15; Ps 92:13, Heb 10:25; Acts 2:42).
Every partner should use their gift to serve the church for the glory of God. The Pastor’s role is to train and release them to volunteer in the various ministries of the church (Eph 4:11-12; 1 Pet 4:10).
